Some of you may remember this post about the french style icy blue vintage davenport I found on a recent trip out junking with a friend. For a variety of reasons, this piece of furniture captured my heart.
I simply could not let it go.
After some rearranging, it is now the focal point of my once-formal-living-room-turned-office.
I am in love...
The ruffly throw hides her most apparent imperfection.... a dime size discoloration.
The sweet floral pillow with the slightest hint of blue was made by a dear friend. I love the vintage floral fabric!
While I was at it, I tweaked a few other things including adding some sweet little rosettes to this lampshade.
I cut the rosettes off of a shirt and just hot glued them on!
The damask artwork is simply a piece of fabric stapled to a three dimensional frame...
To fit the davenport into the space, I had to angle my desk and make it a little off center...
I stood on a ladder to get this aerial shot...
So when I sit at my desk working, I now have a view of my davenport and the outside!
I am so glad I decided to keep it! It makes me happy every time I look at it!!

I love your office, Polly! So bright and shabby and lovely...I bet you spend a lot of time in there.

Nice room It is so much fun when you find something that change
Hey Polly. Thanks for stopping by the blog. I would actually go to Kane instead. Most of my great friend dealers are there and it is every month- 1st weekend of the month. Elkhorn WI is a great flea market too, over 500 dealers- but only 2 more times this year. Grayslake is pretty small. Kane has some junk- but the hunt is fun. I am working on my library right now so loving the blue/grey. It's my new paint color too!
It's soooo feminine. I could live with that look in my home if Hubby would accept his feminine side a bit more.. LOL But he won't. *sad face*

Beautiful room!!!! Should be in the Where Women Create book! Thank you for sharing Polly. I still have some roses I bought from you that I haven't decided what I want to do with yet. Look darling on the lamp shade.
Ooh I love it Polly! How do you keep your workspace so tidy!! I just moved into my craft room and I'm contantly cleaning up!
